Summary

Our system, ranked 4th on the Facial Expression Recognition Challenge at ICML 2013, is primarily designed to detect subtle skin light changes caused by heart inflating small blood vessels in the face. The architecture is a blend of deep learning models and handcrafted features, making it a powerful tool for facial emotion analysis. The work involves extracting high-resolution facial images from a dataset containing 56 teams globally. By comparing these images, the system automatically identifies the most significant changes in the skin's reflection.
