A critical need for linguistics has emerged as a serious gender equity committee is required to address systemic biases in conference organization and speaker participation. Although exact numerical evidence is scarce, there is concrete proof that male speakers are frequently overrepresented as invited speakers and key figures in major conferences and scholarly journals within the field. This bias extends beyond the immediate venue, permeating entire academic disciplines and eroding trust within the profession. To combat this, the proposed initiative focuses on three core areas: first, it aims to publicly disclose the scale of these implicit biases through a conference tracking system; second, it empowers conference organizers to adopt active gender-sensitive strategies by leveraging a REIL Guidebook; and third, it supports linguists with ongoing mentorship resources regardless of their initial bias. These multi-faceted strategies represent a necessary effort to create a fair and inclusive environment where contributions are valued equally.
